Full Description

This wooden Buddha image was recovered from the eastern coast when it was washed off after tsunami in 2004. It is depicted as seated on a Padmasana (lotus seat) in veerasana posture. The long head and the prominent protuberance and the rain bow type eye brow suggest the stylistic charactertain. rustics of the Sukhotai tradition (14-15 centuries) of Thailand. The period of this image is uncertain.
