Full Description

This is a quite large canoe of 25 feet in length and 3 feet in width. It is commonly available in the sea coast of Negambo and Chilaw along the western sea board off Sri Lanka. Kattudel Oruva is used for fishing in lagoons with nets. Sevveral wooden logs are loaded to the canoe in order to keep the balance when it is in water. The number of wooden logs to be loaded depends on the number of people on board. Outrigger is fixed to a side of the front area of the canoe.
